Auditing multiple machines Can't get more than one report

Maybe I'm just confused, but when I go to the audit manager and try to audit multiple machines for, say, memory. I see that the audit is running through the systems, they end up getting checked as done and then when I go to the report folder it only shows one machine's audit. What am I missing?
Is there a procedure to follow to have a single report listing the machines I've selected in audit manager? I can't seem to get it to work...
Thank you,

Don't worry smile.gif

To use the remote monitor function (=scan multiple machines) Everest must
started on each machine.

if you set the tic by "file" - "preferences" - "general" -
"load Everest at windows startup" Everest sets in each machines registry* a key:

*HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\

To have a look how many clients are available (=Everest is started):

Click first on "Remote" and activate "Accept Incoming Remote Connection"
Then click on "Remote" again - then select "Remote Monitor..."

In the the new window click on "Remote" - "Remote Monitor" -
"Remote Computers..."

Now you can choose:

Scan an ip-range or connect only to one machine.

---

To initiate the network scan:

click on "Report" - "Remote Report Wizard" - "<Next>" - ""<select profile>" and "<Next>"" - ""<select Report format>" and "<Next>"" - click on "New"

Now you can choose:

Scan an ip-range or connect only to one machine (select here IP-range) -
Now all IPs are listed - "Next" -
""enter Report output-path and format" with "Filename=$HOSTNAME"" -
click "Finish" -
Now all available machines will be scanned.

Thanks Maverick,
Unfortunately, it isn't working for me. When I view my remotely monitored systems I do see who is connected in real time but when I try to generate a report all I get is one machine listed.
I'm trying to generate an HTML report that would list all the selected machines on one page. Alas, it just isn't working???

Hope I understand you:

Also: You say, that you see with "Remote Monitor" all clients logged to system - is this correct?

But the network report wizard don't work - you only have one html-report (your own machine?) in the report folder - correct?

perhaps it don't work:
- check the permission of the output folder and give all all rights.
- and activate "Remote" - "Accept Incoming Remote Connection" (?)

Yes, when I'm in remote monitor I see all connected clients. We have not installed the everest software on each machine. We created a script to run at logon as follows:
\\FW9FC5\Everest\Everest.exe /ACCEPTBG /IDLE /SAFE /SILENT
Then when I go to obtain a report I select the machines I want from the remote report wizard. It only generates a report for a single system (And that report is just a random machine from the selections I asked for!).
I've tried with HTML and CSV output. I still get the same thing.
I'm beginning to wonder if our install is faulty. The idea seems fairly easy but the output never gives me a full report of all machines requested.
Thank you for your help!

Just an idea.

rename everest.bin (from \\FW9FC5\Everest\) to everest.exe (overwerite the small one, or rename this first).

Then try again.

In the case you get only 1 report as a result after running Remote Report Wizard, then try to use a different file name for the reports, such as:

$HOSTNAME

That did the trick, I figured it out after actually reading what Maverick had to say. unsure.gif
Anyway, the $HOSTNAME allows me to audit to my hearts content..
Thanks

fine that my tip was right wink.gif and I could help.

It seems like a bug - I recommendend always to rename everest.bin to everest.exe - you are not the first which have problems with the small everest.exe

I think the $HOSTNAME fixed it up, not the renaming of the main executable binary smile.gif

That's correct, I was naming the report output to a single machine instead of $HOSTNAME. We had always pointed users to the everest.exe in their logon.
Thanks for your help,

Make sure to start a new topic if you have any further issues with EVEREST.
