I have this problem (slow scanning Smart devices) with my Registered Everest 5.30.1900. I do have a usb flash drive used for turboboost, have not tried removing it yet. Everytime Windows boots it hangs on scanning smart devices 1-2 mins it seems.

I am running Windows 7 Business 64-bit. I have two Raid arrays, so no Smart devices show up in Everest.
