I need to track which PCs have the Office Communicator Enabled & Disabled on my network. How can I accomplish this? What do I need to include in my reportof each PC?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator\PreventRUN

Enable = 1
Disable = 0

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think the Custom Variables feature of EVEREST Corporate Edition may just do the trick for you.

You need to configure the variable in EVEREST / main menu / File / Preferences / Summary. Scroll down to almost the bottom of the list there, select "Custom Variable #1", press the Configure button, enter the Title as:

Office Communicator Status

Then enter the Registry Entry as:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator\PreventRUN\Enable

Then try to create a report, where the "Office Communicator Status" line should appear on the bottom of the Summary page.

Let me know how it works for you.

Thank you Fiery, very much for you help. I have created the Custom Variable like below. When I create a report, which Item do I select to include this in the report. I checked on the Individual PC and did not see it listed.

I may have misunderstood the Registry path you provided. Please try to enter the Registry key in EVEREST as:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator\PreventRUN

Let me know if it works. If not, then please make a screen shot of REGEDIT showing the specific Registry value you wish to add to EVEREST report.

Thanks,
Fiery
