Everest Ultimate 5.30.1900.

Earlier in the "Display->GPU->XXX Device" section was displayed the hardware supported version of DirectX. Why it has been removed? Whether it is possible to return it?

In section "DirectX->DirectX Video->Primary video driver" it shows:
Unified Shader Version	4.0
DirectX Hardware Support	DirectX v10.0

on my NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440. How this can be?
Maybe it shows installed software version of DirectX without taking into account the hardware capabilities of current equipment? Or Maybe it shows the software capabilities (or the maximum supported by hardware) the current DirectX in conjunction with Video drivers (because NVIDIA unified driver architecture is used) on this system without taking into account the real capabilities of this equipment?

Why in section "DirectX->DirectX Video->XXX Driver" present only "Primary video driver" and not the device itself (For example "nVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440")?

P.S.
What is "alkylog.txt" and when it appears? For what purpose? How it can be disabled?
Why when you enter the "Preferences" Everest always at this moment detects sensors information?

It's still there, but we cannot detect it on all GPU models.

What Windows version and which service pack are you running? Which version of ForceWare do you have installed?

No. We try to create a Direct3D 10 device using D3D10CreateDevice. We try to create it with "driver type = hardware", so software emulation should not be used there. When the device can be created successfully, we show the above quoted 2 lines there -- unless of course a D3D11 device can be created, etc. etc.

On the DirectX Video page we don't use software emulated capabilities or software rendering devices at all. We've tested that with non-DX10 capable video cards under Windows Vista, and found no such issues.

The hardware device name should be listed there as well (in the other listview as "Hardware Description").

I've never heard of that file. When, where and how it appears? What can you see inside that file?

Because EVEREST has to know what sensor readings are available on your system before displaying the Preferences window. Several lists in the Preferences window is built up to list the available sensor readings (e.g. OSD, Vista Sidebar, Logging).

Windows XP PreSP3 x86 (5.1.2600.5503), Forceware 93.71.
I even put another "GeForce 4 mx440-8x", but it is not shown on the hardware supported version of DirectX. Operating system (it is already in the non-ideal condition) can influence the Everest?

alkylog.txt
