Hi All,

I have this behavior with Windows 7 Prof.(64. I had Everst running under Vista(64) before and everything was just fine with the
gadget in the sidebar. Since I am running Win 7 prof: I have no Everest gadget, but a "gadgetlike" message in the gadget area saying: EVEREST Ultimate is not running or the sidebar support is disabled. Have a Nvidia 8800GT videocard, but I doubt it has something to do with the card or its drivers.

If I need to do some tests, or someone from support wants to have more info, just let me know.

Regards Ulrich

I am running: V 5.30.1900 Attached File  IM000396.png (34.66K)

Please try the following:

1) Remove the EVEREST gadget from the Desktop

2) Disable the relevant option in EVEREST (Preferences / Vista Sidebar / Enable Vista Sidebar support)

3) Close EVEREST

4) Upgrade to the latest beta version of EVEREST Ultimate Edition available at:

http://www.lavalys.c...kjw6kszm4xn.zip

5) After upgrading to this new version, restart Windows to finalize the upgrade

6) Enable the option in EVEREST again (Preferences / Vista Sidebar / Enable Vista Sidebar support)

7) Put the gadget back to the Desktop

If you're already using the latest beta (v5.30.1927), then you can skip #4 and #5.

Let me know if it helps.

Thanks,
Fiery

Hi All!
I have the same problem with my win 7 x64 and Everest 5.50 (2100)

I'm not a programmer, maybe a debugger. I've inspected the gadget's js code and found a registry key that is not at its place if you have an x64 OS.
If you can't get the gadget working, try this solution:
1. Go to C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\EVEREST.Gadget folder and find the file everest.js.
2. Open the file with your favorite word processor (Notepad++ is recommended) and find the variables: sRegKey and sRegKey2
3. Set the key to : 'HKLM\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\Lavalys\\EVEREST\\VistaSidebar\\'; same key to sRegKey and sRegKey2 too.
4. After this step you need to close the gadget, and reopen it.
I hope it works now! If not, send me a reply.

We've added support for HKLM WOW64 Registry node to the Sidebar Gadget.

Make sure to upgrade to the latest beta version of EVEREST Ultimate Edition available at:

http://www.lavalys.h...wl3kjsdn8cx.zip

After upgrading to this new version, make sure to restart Windows to finalize the upgrade.

This way you don't have to hassle with patching the EVEREST.JS file ;)
